During a visit to Ukraine of Gennadiy Onishchenko, Head of Russian Federal Service on Customers’ Rights Protection and Human Well-Being Surveillance (Rospotrebnadzor), and his meeting with the Minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko the parties has been principally agreed an approach to lifting a temporary limitations on export of Ukrainian cheese to Russia imposed by Rospotrebnadzor.
According to Mr. Poroshenko, Ukrainian side has to fulfill some conditions of Rospotrebnadzor, including tightening control over the quality of Ukrainian cheese to be exported to Russia.
Mr. Onishchenko stated that the parties agreed about the further inspections of the Ukrainian cheese production plants – exporters to Russia, in particular an arrangement of the inspections of two of those at the next week.
As a results of the visit it was announced the formation of the joint working group on harmonization of Ukrainian and Russian technical standards, including those in a cheese production and deployment a special laboratory in Ukraine to control the quality of Ukrainian cheese to be supplied to Russia.
